Chapter 15

Chadwick’s POV

After breakfast, I tell them he wants to meet with me at 1:00 PM, and which it was about 11:00 AM atm, so we decided to just take a day to relax. “Wanna go to the park? We could play some Basketball…” I watched Albrech look at me strangely. “How can you-” I cut him off. “How can I play Basketball? Easy, I use my hologram form.” He shrugged. “Sure, not very good at the game myself…” Regina grabbed his arm. “Come on, It’ll be fun!” Donavan grinned. “Sure, how about some one-on-one Basketball Chad? I couldn’t beat you before, and I bet I can now.” I grinned. “You’re on!”

We sort of do a race to the park and I won. “No fair, you have a wheelchair…” I chuckled. “Oh, and I thought you were faster…” We reach the Basketball Court and I turn on the system to use my hologram. “Watch me kick your ass Don, even though I’m 53 years old, I can still beat you!” He scoffed. “Really? I’m only 51, so ha!” Then it began. A few toons stopped to watch us, Albrech was gone, Lord knows where he went, and Regina kept watching. “Mind if we join?” I hear 2 voices. “Think fast!” I feel the ball get taken from me and I see Jared and Roland, the twins, going toward my basket. “Hey! That isn’t fair! 3 VS. 1!”

Then the ball got swiped from their hands and back to me. “Need help friend?” I saw James appear like a ghost, slowly fading in. “Thanks!” I threw it and it got caught by someone. “Too slow Chad!” Then, I see Adriane toss it toward my basket. “Damn you Adriane…” I chuckled. “The whole gang is here, huh?” Regina chuckled. Jared and Roland were twins, they both had brown hair with emerald eyes; Adriane had red hair with grey streaks in it and silver eyes; James had blonde hair, with streaks of grey, with blue eyes. Regina, however, still had black hair, green eyes and maybe only little amounts of grey.

“Coming through!” I hear Sandra yell. She grabs the ball and throws it into Donavan’s basket. “No fair Sandra! You just came!” Donavan yelled, I laughed so hard. “You snooze you lose, Don.” Regina said. “Now, the whole gang is together…remembering years ago guys? Anyone that messes with you Chad, has got to go through us, Right?” We all put out hands together. “Right! 1, 2, 3, 4, let’s all win this war! 5, 6, 7, 8, let’s show those villains we’re not fakes! 9, 10, 11, with all of us combined we make 7!” We threw our hands in the air and I could sense someone watching.

“Having some fun?” We turn to see Master Yen Sid. “Master Yen Sid!” We all bowed before him and he nodded. “It’s good to have you all here…” We chat for an hour and we sort of catch up on old times. “I remember one time we fought Jafar, it was brutal man.” We all laughed as that got explained. “Well, I need to run. I have a meeting with someone at 1:00 PM.” I waved them goodbye and they all said they’d meet me at the meeting hall tomorrow. “See ya guys!” I yelled, wheeling off toward the New York District.

“But, why would he come here now and why HIM of all people?” I thought, sadly I shook my head. “Who the hell knows…?” I reach my building, with a bit of help from a group of Toon Scouts, and I see Rachel looking around, like she was frightened. “Rachel, it’ll be ok…” She nods and tries to calm down. “You know what happened last time he-” No sooner she spoke; he came in, with about 4 Tyger Guards with him. “Dr. Strange…you wanted to talk to me alone?” He nodded and told the guards to keep watch at the door, and we went up to my office. “Rachel better not be harmed at all…”

He grinned. “I assure you, Mr. Stanton. She won’t be harmed, or should I say-?” I glared at him, and all he did was have that smart-alecky grin on his face. “I guess these types of accidents run in the family then, hmm?” I gripped the armrest of my wheel chair. “She was shot by Joker, Strange. You know that…this was due to…a fight…” We exited the elevator and into my office. “Now, what the hell do you want?”

He sat down, put his hands together and looked at me. “What I want to know is what do you know?” I looked at him. “What do you mean? I know nothing…” He eyed me suspiciously. “Really? So, you’re saying I’ve been informed that you know nothing about Koath?” I glared at him. “You know that I know he’s corrupt…and that’s a DAMN fact. Besides, how the hell did you get here?” He chuckled. “Oh, easily…Koath listened to my plea to come here to chat to you. He allowed me full access to the Disney Universe.”

I was shocked. “The others can’t get here can they?” He shook his head. “Only me Mr. Gordon…” I gritted my teeth. “If you ever, EVER call me that in public, I will personally kill you myself…” All he did was laugh. “With these on me?” He showed 14 vials of blue liquid in his jacket. “These can just bring me back…” I stood up. “Who gave those to you?! Those aren’t from the Lazarus Pit, because I know what that stuff can do!” He just sat there, looking at them. “Let’s just say I got them from a close friend of mine who does potions. Personally, I never thought I’d find you, but you’re not too hard to find.”

I was furious. “Those potions can bring someone back to life…like you need them…” I crossed my arms. “Oh, I had 15, but I was given one…” We just had an odd conversation for a few hours, like until 3:00 PM, and he finally got up and left; but he left a file on the table before he did. I was standing in the middle of the room, just staring at the door, angry. I walk to my desk and pick up the file. “This will explain all -Strange” I look inside and read it all, literally, until 4:27 PM. “Geez, Strange is more trouble than he looks…I can’t believe it…I knew it…”

I jolt down a few notes, and store them in my desk; I stretched out, tiredly, and yawned. “It doesn’t help I’m getting older by the day…what with that war in two days…I need to contact Master Yen Sid and inform him on this…sheesh…” I hear the elevator and there’s Rachel with Master Yen Sid. “I was about to call you Master Yen Sid…” I explain the entire conversation, and even about the note. “That’s troubling…but, sadly, we’re tied up with the war. We can’t delve on this situation at the moment…but tell me, what do you know about the Forest’s Surveillance Cameras?”

I look at the cameras and all I saw were the local wildlife just roaming. “I have them set and ready, but, do you want to really record the war? What if they catch deaths?” He only shook his head. “If they do, well, only hope they’re not our own people.” I nodded. “Ok, then the meeting tomorrow? Where will it be?” He explained at the Meeting Hall, but the bigger one. “Oh yeah, you have those old heroes that are about, maybe, in their 70’s to 90’s….hell, there are a few 20 year olds too…” He nodded. “Don’t forget the Junior Heroes too, the youngest ones.” I looked at him, surprised. “You’re involving them? They’re too young to-”

He stopped me. “They’re only coming to understand what war is. Not take part in, and I expect you to behave Chadwick, Koath…” I growled. “I know…you tell me all the time…if I could I would…” He put a hand on my shoulder. “Don’t even go there, only when the time is right you can. A true hero will do what is right, not what is wrong.” I nodded. “I understand…but…what we need to send some heroes over to there, to stop him?” He shook his head. “I’m afraid if we do that, we’ll lose all input of magic coming in to Toon Town, and then, all of Toon Town will turn to stone. People, Animals, Toons…you name it, it’s gone.”

“But what about the Song of Life? That can restore Toon Town and-” He stopped me. “Only one person in Toon Town has the power to do that…but she’s not ready, the time isn’t right. Hold off a bit Chadwick, but please, make sure those cameras are working…” I nodded. “Ok…I’ll try…but I’ll make sure to get the cameras working.” I turn back to my computer and he sees that letter Strange sent me. “Is it poisoned or something?” I shook my head. “Not sure how he got here…” I watch Master Yen Sid stretch and yawn, and he looked outside. “Get some sleep Master Yen Sid. You’ll need it…I’ll need to talk to Eugene Clockman of the Clock Tower to make sure he’s alright, you know, how he’s gonna react to this. Hopefully he won’t be “Insane” and attack me…as we all know how he is.” Eugene Clockman lives in and operates the Clock Tower; his job is to carry out maintenance over it. He's obsessed with all things time, enjoys fashion, is very flamboyant, and he has a lisp.

His normal personality is wacky, zany, helpful, and fun, but his other personality is insidious, destructive, mad, and vicious. He suffers from the problem every day, often struggling between the personalities, and as a result, the Clock Tower itself undergoes drastic changes, as its operator is highly unstable. The Clock Tower takes on the mood of whatever personality the Clockman is experiencing, thus going from gold to purple in coloration. “I ask you to be careful, because he can turn at any time…” I nodded, and started to wheel toward the door. “Also, give him this.” He handed me some Mickey Ears and they were signed on the inside. “I know, he likes stuff of Mickey…he’ll like it…” I put it in a bag and nod.

The only way to tell if the Clockman is nice or crazed is entirely based on his outfit. While Eugene was insane, he wears a pinstripe dark navy suit, his usual white hair with, a purple streak instead, and his accessories are often disheveled or rusted jewelry. When he’s his usual nice self, he wears a gold suit with golden items and his normal white hair with a yellow streak. “Hopefully, he’ll be his normal, sane, cheerful self, and not his destructive, insane, evil self.”
---Time Skip: 1 Hour---
I return, with a few bruises from the time I was visiting with Eugene, since during the visit he turned and attacked me.
--------------------
He was ecstatic once he got the hat, and then once I was explaining all about the war he got very concerned, and then…it happened…I heard that ghastly voice come out of nowhere and I turned to him while his back was to me. “Oh, ThErE’s A wAr NoW iS tHeRe? HoW…InTeReStInG…” I, being in a wheelchair, I started rolling backwards and he quickly went behind me and started pushing me forward. “Oh, CoMe NoW! TeLl Me MoRe AbOuT tHiS WaR…” I couldn’t stop him from pushing me, but I did stop the wheelchair at some point.
“Clockman, I must warn you. I know how you are and how to deal with you.” He laughed, and implied that I tell him about the war. This went on for an hour, until finally; I tricked him and managed to escape. I was a bit tired and such, what with the war meeting being tomorrow. It was gonna be a long day, so I just headed home as it turned dusk.

Albrech’s POV
I just sat on one of my balconies, thinking back to when I met Koath for the first time, at age 15. I was sent to the Disney Council to drop off a message from Master Yen Sid, and I was just an apprentice then, and I had already lost 2 people from not protecting them hard enough.
------Flashback 12 years ago------
I stood there in Master Yen Sid’s tower, in a patched up jacket with green pants; with two patches, a yellow shirt, and a blue vest, I also had a brown hat with 2 patches on it. I had been reading about magic and spells when I was summoned to his tower for something important. “Albrech, you need to take an important message to Koath at the Disney Council.” He explained. “The Disney Council? I thought only heroes could go there?” He sighed.

“It’s true, but I go there occasionally and this time, I can’t go due to a problem. I need you to deliver it, can you do that? I can summon a portal for you to take you there.” He handed me a golden scroll with a red bow, it glowed a brilliant golden color, like gold. “They’re also in the middle of a huge party at the moment, be on your best behavior.” I nodded. “Yes Master Yen Sid…” He leads me to a door and opens it. “Go, it’ll be ok…” I enter it and it closed behind me, but the door remained.

“Ok Albrech, don’t freak…” I was nervous; the halls were gloomy and dark, shadows danced across the floor and there was only candle light to light the way. I heard music and such playing around a corner, where I met two guards, who looked confused. “State your business here.” I gulped and tipped my hand. “I-I’m Albrech Hoshkins…Master Yen Sid sent me…” They looked through the open door and looked at me. “Here, let me take your coat…I don’t think you’d get a good impression if you walked in like that.” I handed him my coat and the other guard looked at me. “Ok, listen, Council Leader Koath is extremely busy in there; don’t interrupt him if he’s speaking. Got it?” I nodded.

“Say, aren’t you Sandrita Pollux’s son?” I nodded. They bowed to me and I felt embarrassed. “We’re sorry your highness, we’ve been asked to check all people who come in.” I nodded and they opened the door slightly. I walked in and I was blinded by the lights a bit, and when my eyes focused, I saw most of the Council Members out talking, dancing and drinking. I suddenly bump someone taller than me and immediately apologized. “It’s quiet alright young man,” I recognized this as Zexthr, the Council Member of Darkness. He was good, but used dark magic to help us. “Master Zexthr! I’m…I’m sorry…” He chuckled.

He was dressed in a black set of robes, his jet black hair was in a braid and his violet eyes glowed. “I just said it was alright…you’re Albrech aren’t you?” I nodded. “How do you…?” He smiled. “You’re royalty, that’s how. Xranth is talking to Koath now, how about I take you up there?” I thanked him and then saw Angelina, Council Member of Spirit approach. “Let him speak to Koath…I know he can do it…” She was dressed in a purple dress that sparkled like a diamond, her Auburn hair was in a bun and her golden eyes shined in the light. “Mistress Angelina…” She smiled and patted my head.

“Thanks…” I walked up to where Koath sat and I stood behind Xranth, who turned around with a smile. “Well, look who we have here…” He was dressed in blue and purple robes; his white hair was hanging in the front of one of his eyes, and he had blue eyes that were the color of the sea. I saw a girl next to him, only about 16, with black hair in a ponytail and she was wearing a pink dress. “Hi…” She waved, and I waved back. “And who are you?” I heard a deep, smooth voice say, questioning me. “I…I…I’m Albrech Hoskins…I was sent by Master Yen Sid to give you this…” I held it out and he took it, and started reading it over.

“Albrech, I want you to meet Regina…my daughter…” I took her hand, placed a kiss, which was proper but I hatted it, and she giggled. “You certainly act like a prince, but not dress like one.” I chuckle nervously. “I’m just trying to look normal…and the fact I’m Master Yen Sid’s Apprentice…” He asked how he was and I told him fine. “That’s good, say, how about you two go with the other kids for a bit until Koath is done reading?” Regina grabbed my hand and pulled me toward some other kids, who were around 15-17 years old. “This is Albrech; he’s a prince like you guys!” Some of the boys looked at me and then at each other. “He certainly doesn’t dress like one…” They started laughing and Regina started arguing with them.

“Guys, guys! This isn’t really very royal like…we shouldn’t fight…” I said, and smiled, and then one of them shoved me down and laughed. “That wasn’t nice!” Regina yelled, punching one of them. “Hey, hey, children! Stop teasing Albrech…he’s Sandrita’s son…the Queen of Dreams…” Xranth said, looking very annoyed. They just glared at me. “It’s not like he was invited…” I get up and growl. “Boys…be nice…or else I’ll tell your father your being mean and he’ll stick you in the Hall of Darkness again…” They looked freaked out and left.

“Their dad is Zexthr?” He nodded. “Unruly kids sure…but they’re in their little group…and Koath wants to talk to you Albrech.” I gulp and walk back up with Xranth, Koath looked very angry. “Give this to Master Yen Sid…tell him I have no time for nonsense like that!” He snapped and I jumped back a bit. “I’m sorry for snapping but he always brings it…now go…” I nodded and started walking out. “Fools…you’re all fools!” I turn to see…him…the one that tried killing me when I was younger, in the air, looking at everyone with an angry look on his face.

“Esteban…I banished you!” Koath yelled, standing up. “Didn’t work, hmm? I’ve just come to settle a small score…with a certain prince…” I started backing up and then I felt shadow hands grab me, panicking I dropped the scroll and Regina grabbed it. I was brought up to his level and he grabbed my chin. “What a simple, but yet stupid boy you are…nothing will save you or your precious world…” I struggled to get free and he tightened his grip. “Ah, ah, ah…you mustn’t struggle as I strangle the life out of you!”

Members ran to fight him and he deflected their spells with shadows and more. I felt tingling all over and I felt myself getting weaker and weaker. “Don’t you dare!” I heard someone yell, and then with one last ounce of strength I yelled out a spell and he screamed in agony, and I felt myself drop from the air onto the ground. “No!” I heard someone yell. I lied there motionless, and I then woke up to everyone surrounding me. He floated there; a part of his chest was burned to high heaven. “You….You couldn’t have known that spell…”

He left, with a shocked look on his face, in a dark flame with his beings. “Albrech, are you ok?” I nodded. “He could have killed you…” I put my hand to my chest and my worst fears were realized. “My heart…” I checked again, it was beating normal, but it had the aura of Darkness around it along with an aura of Light. “He put a dark aura around your heart…but the light aura is fighting it…” I got a random chest pain of it and doubled over. “Here, let me take you to Master Yen Sid…” Xranth picked me up, told Regina to follow and rushed me to Master Yen Sid’s tower.
-------------------------------------------
It was one of the worst days of my life. For the past 12 years I’ve had random chest pains due to it, Master Yen Sid said eventually it’ll go away but it’d take over 20 years to do so. I watched the night sky and then felt a hand grab mine. “Albrech?” I look over to see Britni, wearing a black jacket with a red scarf, and jeans. “How are you feeling?” I shook my head. “I hate wars…I hate fighting…but I’m forced to do it…” I sighed. “No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country and war does not determine who is right - only who is left,” She then said that war was considered a crime, and crimes don’t go by unpunished. I looked at her.

“But never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime. I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility…” I paused. “It’s stupidity…” She sat next to me, looking up at the stars. “But, how brutal can a war be?” I think for a second. “War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.” I then look at her; the look on my face was a sad look.

“The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are individual human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conventions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own.” I started crying, thinking of I could lose her and many others. “It’s going to be fine…we’ll make it…I know it…” I couldn’t help but smile at her trying to help me. “Thanks…I needed that…but you better head to bed…”

She laughed when I ruffled her hair a bit. “Now go home, we have a big day…” She hugged me and flew off. “She’s so nice…she always has been…” I get off the edge and head inside, locking my doors and slipping into bed. But I was unaware of the big shock I’d get tomorrow at the meeting…a BIG shock…
I finally finished it....This was a PAIN.....also, Chadwick has a slight run in with Eugene Clockman, :iconpharaoh-ink:'s character! I though it would be nice if Chadwick dropped the hat off, but that brief encounter with his other side, idk if I did it right >_>, has him a bit tired after that....but anyway that lovely chat with Strange....yeah....NOT GOOD.....but him with his old-time-buddies...yeah....and he's blind.....again.... :/ Albrech stop getting yourself blind 2 days before a damned war....
-------------------
Can anyone guess who Strange is mentioning? "I guess these accidents run in the family..." Tick-Tock goes the clock...Who is Strange talking about?~
--------------
I went a bit serious about the war part with quotes...they're all true...War is a sick, horrible thing...
--------------
Also, I had a small flashback idea for Albrech and winged it...yeah...great encounter for meeting someone for the first time....nearly dying....and look! He met Regina when she was little! No wonder they're friends! :D
--------------
Sorry it took so long! Procrastination! :'D
